Weight Loss Secrets – Mind Over Matter

April 10th, 2010 Diet-PillsThatWork No comments

Katie,a 33-year-old mother of two, has been on her share of diets over the years. From Weight Watchers to the Zone to Sugar Busters, she feels as if she has tried them all. While she has had moderate success in losing weight from time to time, she has never found a long-term weight loss solution.
Her weight is a point of contention in her marriage; her husband – who also happens to be obese – wishes she were thin, but says he loves her anyway. The two have been separated a number of times, and even filed for divorce once. The stress has caused Katie to begin binge eating again.
There is hope for Katie and others like her who feel as if they’re trapped on the diet carousel. The key to long-term weight loss success may not be the body, but the mind.Research indicates that those who have a positive outlook on life are more likely to lose weight and stay thin. But how can you have a positive outlook when you’ve been burned so many times before? Is it possible to wiggle your way to losing weight?
One technique that has been proven effective in sports training is something called visualization. For instance, a baseball player might visualize his bat connecting with a ball, leading to a homerun.A soccer player might visualize kicking the winning goal in a soccer match. And a golfer might visualize sinking the winning putt in the Masters Tournament.
The same technique can be used by dieters.Visualize yourself as thin.Picture yourself in that dress that is now two sizes too small.Imagine stepping onto the scale and being pleased with the result.Visualize yourself saying no to that piece of chocolate cake or that plate of Fettucini Alfredo. These mind exercises can help to spur you onto weight loss.
When people learn they are suffering from cancer, they are encouraged to imagine their cancer cells being destroyed by healthy cells. You can follow the same technique in order to lose weight. That means imagining your fat cells being destroyed by thin cells. Through such a method, you can think your way to a healthy weight.
In addition, it is critically important that you maintain a positive attitude.Be forgiving of yourself. If you veer off your diet plan, simply get back on course with your next meal.
Don’t spend precious time beating yourself up over your failures.Instead, celebrate your successes – in a non-fattening way.For instance, when you reach a milestone – say you’ve lost ten pounds reward yourself with a trip to an art museum or to your favorite coffee shop (but skip the cream and sugar).Marking milestones will give you a sense of accomplishment, a sense that you are triumphing over food.
Another helpful technique can be prayer or meditation. Some support groups even offer Bible-based weight loss programs that use scripture verses to help inspire.
Taking stock of your life and handing your weight loss problems over to a higher power can be cathartic and may give you a sense of peace about your weight difficulties. It has been said that a clear head leads to a healthy body.Try praying or meditating ten minutes at the start of your day.Chances are you will feel refreshed and ready to tackle the weight challenges that come your way.
Yet another technique you might consider is role playing.Grab your spouse or a friend and ask him or her to act out a situation in which you might be tempted to overeat. You’ll be forced to come up with strategies to fight temptation. This rehearsal could prove to be quite helpful when a real life diet dilemma comes your way. If role-playing works for job interviews,it should be beneficial for your weight as well.
Mind over matter is not just a clever saying. It can actually be the solution to your weight loss problems. By using your brain power, you can develop the techniques needed to make healthy food choices. When your mind and your body are both healthy, you have the best of both world.

Christian Weight Loss — 5 Keys to Stop Temptation From Ruining Your Diet

April 10th, 2010 Diet-PillsThatWork No comments

Good vs. Evil. We see it everyday in the world around us, yet we don’t think of weight loss in those terms. What did the devil use in his first temptation — food! Since it worked so well the first time, don’t you think he’d continue to use food as a temptation? There are many good diet programs out there that will help you lose weight. Where they fall short is they talk about temptation as if it is something that just happens to you. They don’t address who is tempting you (the devil) and how to combat the devil’s temptations to continue to lose weight and keep it off. From my experience, weight loss is a game. You think of food and the game begins. The devil tempts, and you react. If you give in the devil laughs and you gain weight. I believe the devil wants you to lose weight. He knows that if you lose some weight and gain it back, you’ll be more depressed than if you had not lost any weight at all. So, how do you fight the devil? The following five keys are critical to your success. 1) Present moment awareness Many studies have shown that successful people spend most of their time focused on the present, not daydreaming about the past or future. It is when you are daydreaming about the past or future that you often reach for “comfort foods” which is a nice way of saying the devil is tempting you. Being aware of what is happening is critical to weight loss success. 2) Visual (Awareness) cues In the Bible God instructed the people of Israel to use awareness cues to remember to keep his commandments. God had them add tassels to their garments so when they looked at them they’d remember his commandments and observe them. I figure they must be a pretty good idea if God came up with them. Use anything that will help you stay focused ( pictures, crosses, figurines, music, etc.) around the house, at work, in your car etc. to keep you on track.  3) You have a voice, use it for good! The Bible talks of the power of the word. You must be careful and watch what you say when trying to lose weight. What you say can affect you in a positive or negative way. Positive affirmations and prayers have been proven work, use them throughout the day. 4) Visualization You already do it all the time without even realizing it. Your mind thinks in pictures, not words. If I say “red barn”, what comes to mind? A picture of a red barn, not the words red barn. Super successful people in all walks of life understand the importance of visualization and make sure it is only used in ways that will benefit them. What a wonderful gift from God but few realize how important it is. 5) Read your Bible with anticipation Read the Bible as if it were your favorite mystery novel, a book that you can’t put down. Before you start, ask God for guidance, telling him you can’t wait to see what he is going to reveal to you as you read. You’ll be amazed at the insights he gives you.

While our discussion here is weight loss, these same keys can be used to deal with temptation in other areas of your life as well.

If you put these keys to work, you’ll find that winning the game of weight loss is an opportunity given by God to grow and mature in your faith. God bless.

Healthy Greater Weight Loss

Healthy weight loss at young age prevents the onset of many lifestyle related diseases. Although many Americans have tried to lose weight, only a few have actually lost weight and kept it off. For this, a plenty of reasons are sited here. Sometimes, obese people try to loose too much weight in quick time. They think that this may work for them and it is simple to do so. In reality, it is not that easy to lose weight in a healthy way, without knowing how to keep it off. In fact, it requires a completely new way of thought.

Long Term Weight Loss Goals:

A main goal is to lose few pounds and then, keep it off for a long time. Below mentioned are some important tips to achieve goals:-

* Do a self check on what to eat and when to eat. Maintain an honest food record until a week. Note down everything that you drink or eat. Take the help of these things to set new food goals. These small changes can easily help to change the existing food habits.

* Never look for a magic bullet diet. They never exist. It’s better to base the eating habits on whatever a person finds out in his/her self-check food records. Also, check personal snacking habits.

* Always remain ready to change the food habits. It is time to say goodbye to some of the unhealthy food choices and food habits.

* Give importance to daily physical activity. The main thing is to remain active throughout the day.

Below are some tips that can give a start to daily lifestyle changes:-

* Learn how to eat to stay healthy.

* Get hints on how to make healthy eating possible.

* Clear the pantry and refrigerator of any tempting item. It is simple to say no, when these items are out of the house.

* Stock the house with plenty of healthy and natural foods. Keep the refrigerator stored with fresh fruits and vegetables. Always keep sweets and fatty foods to a minimum.

* Use raw vegetables, salads, fruit and soups to fill up. To eat few calories does not mean to face an empty plate. It is important to have a feeling of a full stomach. This may discourage any need to eat those items that help to sustain and increase weight.

* Think about how to handle common food problems. Never put them on hold. There are certain occasions, when a fast food meal becomes inevitable. So, stress on the most satisfying and healthiest options.

Weight loss Benefits:

Weight loss has a plenty of benefits. Some of them improve the health. Some others help a person to feel better. Before getting ready to lose weight, prepare a list as to how losing a few pounds can benefit an individual. Put up the list on either the bathroom mirror or the refrigerator.

Follow the tips mentioned below:-

* Breathe easier and move around easier.

* Play more with children or grandchildren.

* Improve blood fats in case they are not within a healthy range.

* Take some time off for meditation and yoga.

To embark on a quick weight loss, it is important to set realistic and short term goals. For instance, think about losing 10, 15 or even 5 pounds.

A Healthier Me 101 – are You an Idiot About Weight Loss?

If you are like me, you have tried everything in the book to lose weight. There are so many variations on the weight loss theme, I have trouble remembering what goes with what! I might have lost a few pounds here or there, but in the end I felt like a failure, thinking “I’m an idiot for thinking this was going to be the diet to end all diets”. If you are in the same boat, jumping from one diet to another, read on to truly discover the right way to lose weight. Let me re-phrase that, read on to discover what you need to do to re-program your body and lose weight in the process. There are certain myths or false beliefs about weight loss that we should cover first.

Misconception #1: Lower Caloric Content = Lower Weight

This was one myth I was caught up in for a long time. One would think if you eat less, your caloric intake is less and subsequently you lose weight. We take our bodies for granted too often. We do not have control over our bodies in the way we might think. If you choose to eat less and take in less calories, the body says, “Whoa! Wait a second here, re-adjust, re-adjust, re-adjust!” You can almost hear the sirens and alarms ringing out. Your body makes adjustments for the lower caloric intake and holds on to the fat stores for later use. You body only sees the present, and discovers less caloric intake and slows down the burning of fat. The weight you thought you would lose by lowering your caloric intake does not occur. The body needs to protect itself. The easiest example is of your friend, thin as a rail, that eats 3 times as much as you do and doesn’t gain an ounce. Your first thought is to call her the “B” word, and concede that she has a tape worm or something, maybe a hollow leg! In fact, she is probably eating the amount she needs and in turns burns it off. Now you, on a third of the food, requiring more likely as much as she eats, are being blocked by your body in losing fat stores.

Misconception #2: The Skinny On Fat-Burning Foods

You have heard about the foods that help increase metabolism and in turn speed up losing weight. Research cannot substantiate this completely. Some research has even come to conclude you could GAIN weight eating fat-burning foods! One dieting web site went as far as to say that eating fat-burning foods was only a part of the solution, you still needed regular exercise, lower caloric intake and better food choices. Wait a second. Read that again if you need to. If fat-burning foods is only part of the solution, then they are NOT the solution. There are no true short cuts to dieting, and fat-burning foods is just another diet fad collective trying to get your money. Sure, eat the foods they suggest are fat-burning foods, they are usually good choices anyways, but if you eat too many of them, you are only going to up your caloric content and lose less weight.

Misconception #3: Diet Pills Are Magic

Millions and millions AND millions are spent annually on diet pills and supplements, each claiming they are the magic pill to weight loss. Embarrassingly I have to admit, I was one of those blinded-by-wonder suckers that decided to give them a go. You know that saying, “if it’s too good to be true, it probably is”? It is appropriate when we talk about diet pills. When you start any diet, there can be noticeable weight loss to begin with, usually associated with water weight loss. Most people think that the increased weight loss must be the diet pills – WOW! – and continue to take them. Suddenly the body checks in and slams the door on water weight loss to protect itself and any weight loss you observed comes to a screeching halt. The body is going to protect itself at all costs. Did you know that these so called diet wonder drugs can have some serious side effects? Is a diet pill worth the chances for heart failure? I probably could deal with the diarrhea and headaches, but when it comes to heart failure and death I have to put my foot down.

You have to realize that your body is not going to allow for drastic changes. Dieting and losing weight is a combination of many aspects that come together. Eating properly and knowing when and how to eat properly are your starting points to a healthier you. More information on how to proceed in a safe and moderated way can be found below. Don’t procrastinate and say you will start your weight loss after the next holiday. Why wait? Your healthy life depends on it.

Forget about all the diet failures of your past. There is finally a program you can follow to change your body for good – not until the next fad comes along. Learn what to eat, when to eat and get your body back on your side by visiting my website: http://fat-loss-idiots-help.blogspot.com/

Does Weight Loss Medication Really Work?

When combined with a reduced-calorie diet and regular physical activity, weight loss medicines can help people struggling with their weight, to lose weight over a consistent period of time. People who use these drugs may not feel as hungry, or they may feel full after eating only a small amount of food.Weight-loss medicines include diethylpropion (brand name: Tenuate); phentermine (brand names: Apidex-P, Ionamin, Pro-Fast); sibutramine (brand name: Meridia); and orlistat (brand name: Xenical). Unlike other weight loss medicines, orlistat works by keeping your body from digesting some of the fat that you eat.Although some weight loss supplements containing ephedra, ephedrine or caffeine are available without a prescription, it is not known whether these drugs are safe. Such supplements have been linked to reports of heart attack, seizure, stroke and death. It is important to talk to your doctor if you are considering taking a weight loss supplement or if you are already taking one.Weight loss medicines tend not to be offered to people who are just a little overweight, but rather are reserved for people who are very obese. In fact, most weight loss medicines are designed for people who weigh 20% or more above what is the ideal recommended weight for their height and body type or who have a high body mass index (BMI). The BMI is a measure of your weight and height. Your doctor can tell you if weight loss medicines might be helpful for you.At the end of the day, there is no magic cure for being overweight. Weight loss medicines can help you get off to a good start and are a great way to get motivated early on, as you see fast results. But once you stop taking them, the weight you lost may well come back if you have not also commenced a well balanced eating plan, and begun an exercise program. To keep the weight off, you must eat a healthy low-calorie diet and be physically active on a regular basis. You must continue these healthy habits even after you stop taking the medicine. Remember that losing weight and keeping it off is a lifelong effort. If you decide weight loss medicines aren’t right for you, you can still meet your weight loss goals. It’s important to develop healthy eating habits, but don’t expect to change everything overnight. Start by training yourself to eat without doing anything else at the same time.It is also important to be physically active. A good goal for many people is to work up to exercising for at least 30 minutes, 4 to 6 times a week. Regular exercise helps you burn calories faster, even when you are sitting still. Exercise also helps you burn fat and build muscle. Aerobic exercise raises your heart rate and helps you burn calories. Aerobic exercises include swimming, brisk walking, jogging and bicycling. These are ideal exercise options for people who want to burn calories on a regular basis. Anaerobic exercise, such as weight training, is also good because it adds muscle mass to your body and allows you to burn even more calories.

How To Maintain Your Weight Loss

Once you have started losing weight, it is crucial to think of how to maintain that weight loss in the days ahead.

It may seem hard to believe, but taking the weight off is the easy part. Maintaining weight loss for good is where the real challenge lies. If you are like me, you have tried countless diets, only to gain the weight back. People lose lots of weight on diets everyday, but 95% of them gain it back because they have focused only on the weight loss. They follow the diet until they get to a particular number on the scale and then, shortly after, they go back to the old lifestyle that made them overweight in the first place. Over time, of course, the weight comes right back.

The truth is, almost everyone can lose weight but only 5% keep it off. These are the Weight Loss Registry’s figures, not mine. The WLR followed highly successful dieters and came up with seven reasons why people were able to keep the weight off.

Here are the seven reasons the dieters were successful.

1. The dieters accepted failure and kept on trying.

2. The dieters did not deny themselves–they indulged from time to time.

3. They weighed themselves often.

4. They exercised one hour a day.

5. They added little bits of activity into their daily life.

6. They followed a high carb and low fat diet.

7. They ate 5 meals a day.

When I compare my own weight loss success to the list above, I would say I learned how to maintain weight loss due to the following: I do the best I can with what I have available. Sometimes I am not always in a perfect situation with the healthiest choices, but I make do with what is there and I stick to the plan. If I make a not so healthy choice, I don’t beat myself up for it.

I eat YUMMY and whole foods. Using the finest ingredients makes the most delicious meals and has helped me stick to Living Well. If I wanted to indulge, I would make it from scratch using the healthiest ingredients possible. To me, indulging does not mean eating junk.

I use a tape measure to keep tabs on my weight and occasionally weigh myself.

I really struggle with exercising regularly and I have NEVER exercised for one hour a day consistently. I will do heavy housework and other activities around the house to get my heart rate up and I try different forms of exercise all the time because I get bored easily.

I think it is vital to get moving every day, somehow, and it doesn’t always mean you have to be in an aerobics class or on some sort of machine to get your heart rate up.

I eat organic whole foods and healthy oils. I am not sold on the idea that low fat and high carb is the way to go. High fat is not the answer either, but healthy oils are not the enemy. The rights oils will actually speed up the metabolism.

I eat only 3 meals a day and rarely snack. I do better when I don’t snack or graze on food all day. BUT, you may be different. You have to do what works best for you and your unique body.

This is the MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL: I think of the health I have now and my future health EVERYDAY. I really want to enjoy my older years and I want to be healthy. I don’t want to sit in a rocking chair, talking about all my symptoms and the things that ail me when I am in my golden years.

The Weight Loss Registry tips and my maintenance tips are not the only path for everyone, but instead are some ideas you can use to come up with your own way to keep the weight off once you have lost it.

Ultimately, I think it is crucial to focus on your health when changing over to a healthy lifestyle. So many people are in a hurry to lose weight. They spend their entire lives putting on the weight, losing the weight temporarily on diets and just wanting to get rid of it as fast as possible, not taking into consideration their state of health. I know you have heard this many times before, but if you don’t have your health, you don’t have much. Being thin will mean nothing to you if you compromise your health along the way.

Even if you are losing weight slowly, good for you! The idea here is to take off the weight and keep it off for good. Even just a couple of pounds a month adds up over the course of a year. And for those that were doing everything they could and continuing to gain weight, just stopping that weight gain is a measure of success.

With these tips, you now know how to maintain weight loss. Give yourself time to adjust to a new and healthy lifestyle and enjoy yourself along the way. A year from now your body will be thanking you for it!

Lose The Weight And Keep It Off With These Tips For Safe Weight Loss

Excessive weight is quite a common problem for many people in today’s fast-paced world. Some may have it at a very early age while some may start struggling with it after childbirth or with advancing age. Regardless of at what age a person may have weight problems, the fact remains that excessive weight is a serious problem. Not only foes it cause unflattering bulges in certain areas of the body, it is also a major health risk. Being overweight is considered as a key factor in a number of serious illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Being overweight and fat can also have psychological effects as one may find himself unattractive or even ugly because of his excess weight. This may be the reason why a number of techniques and diets have been developed each with a promise of easy, painless and quick weight loss.
One important thing to think about is to lose weight safely. Before embarking on any weight loss program, one must seriously consider its being safe. Weight loss foes not mean being deprived of important nutrients and energy. It is not only with the speed and ease at which weight was lost but how it will be kept off in the end. Unsuccessful attempts may simply cause one to jump from one program to another and to go though a cycle of losing and gaining weight or yo-yo dieting. Yo- yo dieting is in fact dangerous and a major health concern. The key to safely lose the excess weight is to stick to the basics and being consistent.
One step to safe weight loss is controlling your food cravings. Losing weight does not mean not eating entirely or giving up on nutrients or the pleasure of eating. Food craving can cause one to eat in a frenzy a particular food be it chocolate or chips. Stress is one key factor alogn with certain activities. Do not eat while you are doing something else like reading, watching television, or driving. Doing so makes you unaware and unmindful of the type and amount of food you are consuming.
Take time to eat. Safe weight loss does not necessarily mean giving up snacking. Hunger and deprivation can actually drive cravings so keep them at bay by having snacks in between meals. Go for healthy snacks like low fat or sugar free foods such as yogurt, bagels or pretzels. Skipping meals is a definite no-no in safe weight loss. Hunger will only cause you to eat excessively on the next meal so eat small frequent meals instead.
Drink plenty of fluids. Safe weight loss would not be complete without it. Water helps eliminate toxins and waste from the body and helps nutrients to circulate faster. It also helps your skin become clearer and more vibrant.
Safe weight loss, no matter how one may find it harrowing, still boils down to physical activity. Excessive fat would not simply melt away without doing activities. That will burn it and will keep it off. Exercise need not be a difficult activity. It can ne as easy as taking regular brisk walks, jogging or developing a love for a new sport like swimming, tennis or even dancing. Exercise releases feel-good chemicals in the brain that are also released when one eats. So it can also condition you mentally and at the same time curb your cravings. Exercise also causes you to perspire out toxins and wastes so they could also be eliminated from the body. Not only will you lose weight safely and help keep it off permanently, exercise also promotes healthy and clear skin.
Safely losing weight need not be done at a miraculous pace. The key is to see permanent and positive results without jeopardizing one’s health. Remember to lose weight is not only for the sake of looking good and h\feeling better about yourself, ot is more so for the sake of your health.

Avoid These Dangerous Weight Loss Methods

Everyone wants to find that magic weight loss program that allows him or her to lose weight easily. Often you will find that you have to give up something to lose weight, however, you should never have to give up your health. Some weight loss methods can be very hazardous to your health.
It may seem tempting to follow an easy weight loss plan but you need to be sure that you understand the plan and the risks that can be associated with these types of plans.
Some people have turned to prescription pills to help them lose weight. Some people use amphetamines to help them lose weight, but most doctors do not want to give these types of prescriptions for weight loss.
These prescriptions only suppress your appetite and your habits are not changed, so when you go off the medication you tend to quickly gain back the weight you lost. These prescription diet pills can also be addictive and can cause many side effects such as sleeplessness, heart problems, hypertension, and hallucinations.
Ephedra is an herb that many have turned to, to try to lose weight. It is an Asian herb and is found in a variety of weight loss products. Ephedra does suppress appetite. However, over 70 deaths have been associated with taking Ephedra. This can be a dangerous way to lose weight and you do not want to harm your health, or even die, trying to lose weight.
Another weight loss supplement is called Fen-phen and was very popular in the 90’s. Fen-phen is Phentermine Fenfluarmine-phentermine. Together they ended up causing damage to valves in the hearts and were implicated in deaths to that effect. Now you can still purchase weight loss products that contain Phetermine by itself, however there are a variety of side affects that include hypertension, dizziness, headaches, irregular heartbeat, and insomnia.
Some people have turned to home remedies to help purge away weight and have used laxatives to do this. Using laxatives in this way, which is not their intended use, can actually cause irregular heart rate, low potassium, and even damage to the pancreas. Some people not only have used laxatives to purge their systems but some have begun forcing themselves to vomit or have used enemas to help purge their system. These methods can all be very dangerous leading to vitamin deficiencies and damage to the esophagus.
Many people have also used smoking as a way to control their weight. Some people have been afraid to quit smoking because they were afraid of weight gain. Smoking can be very detrimental to your health and to equal the bad effects of smoking you would have to gain over 100 pounds to equal them. If you want to lose weight you need to find a way to deal with any cravings for food you may have instead of turning to cigarettes.
Diuretics have also been used to help people with weight loss. Diuretics get rid of fluids in the body and it often gets rid of fluids that you need such as electrolytes. You can actually end up dehydrated and it can lead to water retention. If you continually use diuretics you can end up with severe kidney problems and this could result in kidney failure or heart failure, which can kill you.
Remember that while weight loss can help you improve your health, losing weight in an unhealthy manner can lead to many other medical problems. Your health is important and so is losing weight, but you need to be sure that you find a way to lose the weight in a healthy way. Often consulting with your doctor can help you find a healthy way to lose weight.

Revealed! How I Achieved a 70 Pound Healthy Weight Loss in 4 Months and Have Kept it Off for 15 Years!

No matter what stop light your car is parked at, chances are good that you can look over at any of the four street corners and see a fast food restaurant. Despite all of the technical advances and knowledge we are equipped with to help us lead healthy lifestyles, temptation is keeping our nation fat and a soaring need for healthy weight loss for over 65% of Americans. One cheeseburger won’t hurt us in the long run, we say, but ten years later we wonder how we became obese.

Another factor helping America achieve the status of being the fattest nation in the world, and an alarming need for healthy weight loss, is fad diets. We eat cheeseburgers, tacos and fried chicken at all of these fast food restaurants, then jump on whatever fad diet train that conveniently passes by in order to try and cheat our way back to good health. All it seems to be doing is making us even fatter.

I struggled with being overweight for twenty years before finally realizing that cheaters never prosper, and it goes double when dealing with your health. I spent over $2,000 on various weight loss programs only to lose 60 pounds and gain back 80 pounds. The only logical solution I could come up with was that there was something wrong with me personally or I was using the wrong weight loss programs.

But thankfully, I’m not the type of person who gives up. When I finally woke up and realized that there will never be some sort of miracle cure packaged nicely in one little healthy weight loss supplement that will help anyone lose weight, things became clear. In order to lose weight and keep it off for good, I had to face the fact that lifestyle changes must be made and I had to find a healthy weight loss program that would work for me.

Lifestyle modifications are the foundation of any successful long-term weight loss plan (eating less and moving more), and they require daily focus and discipline. I had chronic asthma all of my life and could not exercise or even breathe heavy, yet I still found a way to lose 70 pounds 15 years ago and have been medication free ever since. For me there was no other choice. It all came down to making simple decisions on a daily basis.

The way I lost weight was by replacing high-fat and high-sugar foods with proper nutrition and targeted vitamins made from all natural ingredients. Specifically, I began replacing unhealthy meals with a soy-based protein shake that gave my body all of the proper nutrition that a huge high-calorie meal gives you, minus the salt, sugar and fat. Proper nutrition and less calories equals healthy weight loss. Did I give up the foods I love? No. I just don’t eat them quite so often.

One of the biggest misconceptions that I have encountered since beginning to help people in their healthy weight loss journey is that all you have to do is eat vegetables and fruits to get the nutrition you need. Although these foods are a much healthier alternative than low-fat potato chips and cookies, you still have to eat too much of them to get the nutrition of a scientifically formulated protein shake.

Calories are calories no matter what the food source is, and the more you consume, the more you will gain weight. One 200 calorie soy-based protein meal replacement shake, for example, could be packed with all the nutrients found in eating 2,000 calories worth of food.

The human body is complex and requires many different needs for all of your problems which cannot be solved with one little weight loss pill. Treating each organ individually so that it functions at its optimum performance is the safest way to achieve an overall wellness of the body. By taking an all-natural products targeted to help me breathe better, I was soon able to get off all of my asthma medications while achieving the weight loss I wanted.

Another reason why I was successful at losing weight and keeping it off was because I had a support system. My coach had been where I was, and struggled in the same ways to achieve weight loss. Because he was part of the program I began, my coach’s success was dependent on my success. And that is why I am so successful at helping people lose weight now. I have been there before and I know what it’s like.

The best part about the meal replacements and supplements I have conditioned myself to take every day to keep me healthy is the cost. It is cheaper for me to get the best nutrition possible into my system than it is to buy the extra value meal at any given fast food restaurant. How can you beat spending $3.50 per meal without putting your health at risk.

It is important that you understand the importance of making healthy choices as a new way of life. It is extremely difficult in America today to find the road to good health and stay on it, but you must if you want to achieve healthy weight loss and keep it off for good. Do not let poor food and diet choices rob you of living the best life you can live. For things to change, you’ve got to change.

Quick Weight Loss for Women: is This Really the Best Weight Loss for Women?

Why slow weight loss is the “new” quick weight loss for women!

Losing weight is an ongoing struggle for many women.  But is quick weight loss for women the ultimate fix?

I personally have tried all the quick weight loss for wowmen diets there is out there. Yes some of them do work, but only for a short period of time.

Let’s look at these quick weight loss diets and understand why they work, but only for the short term.

How Do You Lose Weight Quickly?

In order to lose weight quickly you need to eat a much lower number of calories than you burn in a given day.

This means that you either have to calorie count or follow one of those “lose ten pounds in ten days” diets.

Many people say that in order to lose weight quickly you should only consume 800 calories a day. Wow – that’s not much food is it?

Yes you can keep this up for a short period of time and lose weight quickly, but as soon as you start eating properly again… yes you’ve guessed it – up goes your weight again.

Therefore you are back to square one. Six months later you have tried so many quick weight loss fixes and given up so you are still at your overweight state. Not exactly quick weight loss now is it!

I know this from first hand experience, time and time again. Before I know it a whole year has passed and I still have not lost any weight even though I have spent money on many quick weight loss fixes!

Why Losing Weight Slowly Is The Way To Go

Now that we’ve established that quick weight loss is not the best way to go, let’s look at why losing 1-2 lb a week is actually the “new” quick weight loss for women routine.

You see giving yourself enough calories to live off will give you a slow steady weight loss which is much more manageable to stick to and attain. After all you can eat a good amount of food plus have treats such as wine and the odd pizza slice etc.. This is just so much more natural making it much more achievable to stick to it and lose 1-2lb week.

You still have to watch what you eat and go down the healthy route with plenty of fruit, vegetables and fibre, but you can also fit in foods you like so you won’t cheat.

So in the same six months you are much more likely to be able to stick to the higher calorie diet with a slower weight loss and be able to reach your goal. As opposed to keep trying quick fix fads which are practically humanly impossible to stick to so you give up and you are back to square one.

I finally realised this a few months ago when I was still 21lbs overweight after being on a ‘diet’ for about two years! So I set a target of losing only 1lb a week. This was so easy to stick to by being able to have the odd glass of red wine and a few treats. I ate healthy most of the week and introduced some exercise in the form of swimming. I am now half way to losing my 21lb but if I had stuck to my quick weight loss diet fads, I would still be 21lb overweight!
