Christian Weight Loss — 5 Keys to Stop Temptation From Ruining Your Diet

April 10th, 2010 Diet-PillsThatWork No comments

Good vs. Evil. We see it everyday in the world around us, yet we don’t think of weight loss in those terms. What did the devil use in his first temptation — food! Since it worked so well the first time, don’t you think he’d continue to use food as a temptation? There are many good diet programs out there that will help you lose weight. Where they fall short is they talk about temptation as if it is something that just happens to you. They don’t address who is tempting you (the devil) and how to combat the devil’s temptations to continue to lose weight and keep it off. From my experience, weight loss is a game. You think of food and the game begins. The devil tempts, and you react. If you give in the devil laughs and you gain weight. I believe the devil wants you to lose weight. He knows that if you lose some weight and gain it back, you’ll be more depressed than if you had not lost any weight at all. So, how do you fight the devil? The following five keys are critical to your success. 1) Present moment awareness Many studies have shown that successful people spend most of their time focused on the present, not daydreaming about the past or future. It is when you are daydreaming about the past or future that you often reach for “comfort foods” which is a nice way of saying the devil is tempting you. Being aware of what is happening is critical to weight loss success. 2) Visual (Awareness) cues In the Bible God instructed the people of Israel to use awareness cues to remember to keep his commandments. God had them add tassels to their garments so when they looked at them they’d remember his commandments and observe them. I figure they must be a pretty good idea if God came up with them. Use anything that will help you stay focused ( pictures, crosses, figurines, music, etc.) around the house, at work, in your car etc. to keep you on track.  3) You have a voice, use it for good! The Bible talks of the power of the word. You must be careful and watch what you say when trying to lose weight. What you say can affect you in a positive or negative way. Positive affirmations and prayers have been proven work, use them throughout the day. 4) Visualization You already do it all the time without even realizing it. Your mind thinks in pictures, not words. If I say “red barn”, what comes to mind? A picture of a red barn, not the words red barn. Super successful people in all walks of life understand the importance of visualization and make sure it is only used in ways that will benefit them. What a wonderful gift from God but few realize how important it is. 5) Read your Bible with anticipation Read the Bible as if it were your favorite mystery novel, a book that you can’t put down. Before you start, ask God for guidance, telling him you can’t wait to see what he is going to reveal to you as you read. You’ll be amazed at the insights he gives you.

While our discussion here is weight loss, these same keys can be used to deal with temptation in other areas of your life as well.

If you put these keys to work, you’ll find that winning the game of weight loss is an opportunity given by God to grow and mature in your faith. God bless.

Weight Loss Spokane Wa: Baby Steps

Being fat is no fun, and it’s not healthy either. A few little changes that add up is the better way to get in shape and you are more likely to succeed.
Start by choosing TODAY as the day you will start. If we find ourselves making excuses, we may need to give ourselves a little pep talk and ask, “If not today, then when?Have a plan and make sure your goals are realistic. Several little goals are helpful. These baby steps soon add up to the final end-goal. Write them down; so that you can visually see the steps you will take to your weight loss.
Simple changes add up to big results in time. We will fail if we expect to lose 20 pounds in a week. Instead try keeping a food journal for a week. At the end of the week, look at the foods eaten and add up the approximate calories consumed per day. Taking out soda pop from our diet will significantly help your weight loss.
Other baby step ideas to weight loss :
change milk from whole to 1%
reduce the latte to only once a week
park at the back of the parking lot
drink more water (8-10 glasses a day)
take a walk on our lunch break or after dinner
say no to second helpings
eat 6 smaller meals instead of 3 large/day
All of these can add up to big results over a few months time. They don’t have to happen all at once, but rather one at a time. This will make that Mt. Everest look more like Mt.! Just those few simple steps could easily add up to 20 pounds lost in 6-12 months.
When you are really tired of being out of shape and are willing to make the ultimate commitment to your weight loss, go here. Getting fit is a lifetime goal, not just a temporary exercise plan.
Baby steps soon turn into leaps. But we can’t get ahead of ourselves, or let that overwhelming feeling consume us. When we look at the little picture of fitting into even one size smaller than we wear now, that feels attainable and IT IS! Weight loss will happen sooner than we think, just by taking that first baby step, today.

Painless Weight Loss – How to Lose Weight With a Hypnosis Weight Loss Program

Finding it hard to fit into those clothes after the holiday season? Considering going on a diet?
Read on. Chances are you could change your mind.
You see, diets are fine – as far as they go. The problem is, of course, that no-one can spend the rest of their life on a diet. Sooner or later, you are forced to come off it. And that’s when, for most of us, the weight just seems to pile back on.
Why is this? We were doing so very well and now we are not. What happened?
In order to understand, we have to recognise the basic flaw in our approach to weight management.
We need to realise that diets, though often effective in helping to shed the pounds in the short term, are pretty bad at helping us to keep them off.
The reason for this is simple:
Diets are just another word for denial. ‘Don’t eat this!’ ‘Don’t touch that!’ ‘Don’t have too much!’So you deny yourself and you keep on denying yourself until your weight loss program begins to deliver just what you want – a slimmed-down you.
And then it’s as if a feeling deep inside just calls out to you: ‘You have been so very good. You have done so very well – you deserve a little reward. Time and again you have denied yourself; you have lost some weight, so now you can just eat normally again…’
The problem is that ‘normal’ all too often means eating in the old way, the fattening way. And before you even fully realise it, back on go the pounds. It’s back to square one.
But now you feel even worse. You did so well. You did lose weight. But now you have just thrown it all away.
Then arrive those terrible feelings of failure. The vicious cycle of disappointment, self-recrimination, perhaps even self-pity – and putting food into your mouth so that you can compensate for those uncomfortable feelings just seems to take over.
You feel so very bad. ‘I’ve had enough of this!’, you think. ‘I feel bad and at least food makes me feel better, so I’ll just eat something. Heck, I can always go back on a diet…’
You know the rest of the story: the more you eat the worse you feel and the worse you feel the more you eat.
If this rings a bell with you then maybe what’s needed is a new and different approach, one not based on denial and diets.
When we experience difficulty managing our weight and there is no real medical reason for it, then the fact is that we are eating in a futile attempt to satisfy something other than hunger.
We are eating in an attempt to satisfy feelings and emotions. And no amount of food can do that because food can really only satisfy hunger.
You see, the reason why you have been having difficulty controlling your weight is because somewhere in the past your subconscious mind has taken on the false belief that food can satisfy uncomfortable feelings. Most often, the pattern of emotional eating has been established and ‘programmed’ into your mind when you were quite young.
Now, emotions and feelings are triggered in the subconscious mind. So it stands to reason that the only really effective way to tackle emotional eating is through the subconscious mind.
And this is where advanced transformational hypnotherapy can be of real help in bringing about permanent weight loss.
Through this kind of hypnotherapy, we can go directly to the underlying reasons of why a person overeats.
Once the reasons are uncovered, effectively dealt with and neutralised, the person is free to eat as he or she was intended to eat. They are released from the compulsion to eat in response to emotional needs and difficult feelings.
They become free to eat in a natural and truly normal manner.
The emotional and compulsive reasons for overeating having been dealt with and neutralized, powerful positive hypnotic suggestions are then ‘programmed’ into the subconscious mind, enabling the person to eat smaller amounts of nourishing food and yet feel pleasantly full and entirely satisfied.
Through the intervention of Advanced Transformational Hypnotherapy, the subconscious mind becomes the individual’s biggest ally, making weight management an entirely natural and painless process.
If you have had enough of deprivation, if you are tired of the vicious cycle of on-and-off dieting and self-recrimination then why not go to the root cause and eliminate your difficulty once and for all?
With Advanced Transformational Hypnotherapy you truly are able to get the lasting weight loss results you need – without the pain of denial.

Depression and Weight Loss

Depression and weight gain are closely related, because very often people want to relieve the stress and bad feeling by eating. Being on a weight loss program during a depression period can be very demanding, but if successful, can be a tremendous boost to self confidence and help with depression also. On the other hand, being over weighted can contribute to depression because we easily lose our self confidence and have a bad self image, which can trigger depressive and negative thoughts and feelings.

What is depression really?

The word depression stems from two words; “de” and “pressure”. We feel like we’re pressed down by a force bigger than our willpower, like a big cloud hanging over us. Eventually this depressed feeling takes over so much, it’s hard to get up from bed sometimes. We lose our zeal for life, nothing inspires us and our life force seems to be totally gone. Sometimes a person can suffer from depression without anybody noticing it. Nobody sees inside of you, not your family, your friends nor workmates. In these situations one feels helpless and alone.

These are the symptoms but what are the reasons? Why do people suffer from depression? Can and should depression be treated medically?

Depression occurs when our life force is weakened and this can have several causes.  We all have different ability to handle difficult situations and when for a long period of time things seem to go wrong, this can be enough to trigger depression. Depression is emotional, but negative thoughts make it worse.  Life force is what keeps our spirits up and gets us going. This life force is mostly in our spine, but we feel it in our body as vigor, strength and inspiration. Being depressed means we have somehow lost our natural life force and fallen into a psychological well.

Medication can help relieve some pain and remove some symptoms temporally, but it is never a long term solution.  It is very important to understand that depression has its roots inside us, it is not coming from outside. Best treatment is positive thinking, different hobbies and support from friends and family.

As I said earlier, depression and weight loss are closely related.  Many people feel that one reason they are depressed is because they are over weighted.  If you feel this is so, you are most probably right. The weight problem is one reason that makes the life situation worse.  But how can one lose weight when all the energy goes to just live from day to day?

Actually what is needed in these situations is action. If we just wait for depression to go away, it might take a much longer time. A healthy diet program that checks our condition frequently is very good and can help boost our confidence and generate a forward going feeling in life. This feeling will eventually remove the depressed emotions and our life force will be free to flow again.

Depression is enemy and we need to face our enemy and conquer it. It is done by taking action and losing weight is a good action to take, but we must not be too strict and hard to ourselves. Allow one feast meal per week, don’s skip meals and eat healthy foods. If it gets unbearable, call someone, talk about it, share it – take action. This will help you take the all important first step.  Do things you like that in the past have given you enjoyment. Start something new and move yourself. Life is movement, death is motionless, and depression makes you feel you are dead inside, so the best treatment is to move on like there never was any depression – and soon your system will follow and you have won one very important battle.

Weight Loss and Money

A new weight loss product enters the market and you think ‘perhaps this will work for me,it looks easy’.The fact is that there is nothing easy about weight loss and the sooner you face up to that, the more chances of success you will have.

It takes time to lose weight, just as it took time to gain weight. Nobody has ever gone to bed thin and woke up overweight the next morning. It takes a long time to put on a lot of weight,so it stands to reason that it will take some time to lose weight. However people want instant results.Unless they change this way of thinking they will not find any long lasting success.

Many industries that have sprung up around the issue of weight loss, produce and try to sell products that are claimed to be the holy grail of weight loss. The truth is that no one product is going to achieve what it promises. Successful weight loss is based on a combination of actions which will include:

Eating smaller meals more frequently, replacing unhealthy foods with healthy foods, being more active in your life, having a varied exercise plan, changing the way that you think of yourself.

Unfortunately people hang on to the small hope that the next miracle product will help them to lose weight. They buy it then when they realise that it is not working for them, then what do they do? They wait for the next product to appear, and they continue to follow the same process again and again.

Deep down most people will know what they have to do to lose weight, but on the whole they tend to ignore this knowledge, and while they keep doing this, they will keep failing. If there was one particular product that could guarantee the results it promised, then everyone would use it and weight issues would not be a problem. However there is no such thing as a miracle weight loss product that is going to work for the majority of people.

we will look at 2 different products that basically act as cash cows for the people that try to sell them to you.

Fitness DVDs

The industry of fitness DVDs is huge. people star in them and try to persuade you that you too can look the way that they do. They tell you that a certain method of exercising has helped them to get the bodies that they have, and now you too can get the same body by buying their DVDs. Admittedly many of the exercises on these types of products can be beneficial, but that is not the whole story.

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that these people look the way that they do because of the product that they are trying to sell you, because they don’t.

Keep in mind that they probably keep their bodies in shape with expensive personal trainers.

Remember that they can afford to buy the healthiest foods.

Remember that they can afford to have their homes equipped with professional gym equipment.

Remember that the main reason that they initially became celebrities was because they already were beautiful and had great bodies. Not all of us are fortunate enough to have great genetics.

Remember that if all else fails, they have the money to pay for all their fat to be sucked out of them through medical procedures.

Buying some celebrity’s DVD is not going to guarantee to give you the body that they have unless you fall into the majority of the above.

Have you ever thought why these people make these DVDs?

Do they really have your best interests at heart? Did they suddenly get this selfless thought during an expensive facial? Do they really want to make life better for you? Do they know you? Do they care about you?

My guess is that most of these celebrities make these products to make life even better for themselves by persuading you to give them your money. Perhaps I am being too cynical; perhaps they do genuinely care about your welfare. I know! after purchasing one of their products try contacting them personally. Ask for some advice on exercise or weight loss. I’m sure they would be more than happy to help you; after all they do want to help you. They tell you as much on their DVD.

Exercise products

More people waste money on exercise gadgets than anything else. People see the adverts, the persuasive hard sell, and the selfless endorsements. In a trance like state you telephone in your order without any logical thought. You wait religiously for 28 days for your product to arrive. You have visions about how great you are going to look after using this product.

The reality is very different to your visions. The reality is that you will use the product a few times, realise that it’s harder than you thought, and you will hide it away in some dark corner so you don’t have to be reminded of how much money you have wasted.

Have you ever noticed how well muscled and toned the people in the adverts are? Did these people really get 18in arms by pulling a few cables 5 minutes a day? Did these people really get toned and tanned bodies just from the product that they are using?

Of course there are other people on these advertisements who used to be overweight and are now slim. They imply that their results came directly from the product. Did they achieve what they did without changing their diets and lifestyles? Why would these people say that they owed their success to a particular product?

If i had lost some weight and someone offered me lots of money to say that i did it using their product, it ould be extremely hard to turn down.Obviously they wouldn’t want me to mention any other methods that i would have used? I know that I wouldn’t.

The fact is that people can be persuaded to buy anything through clever advertising. Focus on the fact that it is you that is going to make sure that you lose weight and not some gadget that you can slide under your bed. Any product is only going to be a part of a weight loss plan. The most important parts of any weight loss plan are going to be motivation, commitment, determination, and perseverance. Focus on these 4 factors and you will lose weight. Without these 4 factors you will not.

Losing Weight Successfully

Are Weight Loss Supplements Beneficial?

Many people would agree that losing weight is difficult at best and usually an on-going battle. But, people continue to try to lose weight; as seen by the multi-billion dollar weight loss industry. Not all diet pills and weight loss supplements are the same. There are good dietary supplements and those that are marketed to build false hopes with little to show for your money. First, to be successful at losing the weight you’ve set out to lose, you must determine what being successful means to you then decide how to achieve that success.

Is it a number on a scale? Or the size of your clothes? Perhaps better health is desired. In general, if a healthful eating plan is followed, proper nutrients are part of the diet whether through the food you eat or by using weight loss supplements and exercise is part of your daily routine ?” it is possible to be successful. To achieve real success in you weight loss efforts ?” a healthy lifestyle and keeping weight off forever should be considered the ultimate goal. The odds are against people trying to lose weight. Many studies have shown that people who lose weight by dieting are more likely to gain all the weight back that they lost – plus additional weight. Losing weight successfully does not occur by dieting, but by changing your lifestyle ?” permanently. Here are some tips for lifestyle changes that will result in weight loss and overall better health.1. First decide that you are going to lose weight permanently ?” not to get down to a number on a scale, but you are going to change your bad habits to good habits for the rest of your life.2. Do not go on a diet. Learn as much as you can about healthful eating; cooking healthy foods for yourself and your family; and portion control. Sometimes it’s not the foods that we eat that are so bad, but the amount of food that we eat is too much. Add a dietary or natural weight loss supplement to your plan until you know you are getting the necessary nutrients through your food.3. Do not remove your favorite foods from your life ?” but limit them and occasionally treat yourself to something you love.4. Weigh yourself every day. It’s important to keep track of your weight. See when your weight fluctuates and make changes if your weight continues to go in the wrong direction.5. Add physical activity to your life. If you are not used to exercise ?” it can be difficult ?” perhaps even overwhelming to start. Start slow and try and find physical activities that you like to do such as gardening, walking with a friend or even disc golf. Not everybody likes to exercise ?” especially when just getting started ?” but the benefits to increasing your physical activity are tremendous.

These are just a few tips to help loss weight successfully. The most important factor in being successful is to not diet, but to change your lifestyle. Changing your lifestyle will change your health; your well-being; and your life.

Losing Weight Safely

Those that want to lose weight usually think about reducing the amount of food they eat. This may seem like a reasonable solution but not necessarily the safest. Fact is, the amount that you reduce in your food intake to lose weight, may be dangerous to your health. So how do you lose weight safely? Here are some pointers to consider before you try to lose weight:

Losing Weight Safely: Crash Diets

Most people think that losing weight means eliminating the calories alone can shed off their excess weight. What people don’t realize is that this is a dangerous mentality to losing weight because when they decrease their calorie intake below the required levels, the body begins to digest the fats. Sounds great but it doesn’t work that way. Burning fat requires a lot of energy. Since there is not enough energy in the body to facilitate the metabolism to burn fat, losing weight will progress at a very slow pace and result in fatigue, illness and a weak immune system.

Low-calorie diet is also compensated for by burning muscle. People on this type of diet who revert back to their old eating habits end up gaining back their weight loss, if not all the weight fat they lost. And since fats have more volume per mass than muscle, they end up with the same weight as before but more bulky. In losing weight, you should keep in mind that you should lose excess body fats only.

However, you can try out eating small meals at more frequent intervals. The body will not think that it is being starved and will not store food as fat. Losing Weight Safely: Eat Properly

You may have considered junking the crash diet option but he should also not forget to watch what he is eating. A variety in diet must always be considered so that you may be able to get the necessary nutrients from your diet. It is also healthier to eat foods that are roasted, steamed or broiled rather than fried. It is also important to include a lot of fiber in the diet. Frequent re-hydration is also necessary while losing weight safely.

Losing Weight Safely: Pump up lean Muscle Mass

Muscles burn calories when they work; they even do so at rest. Unlike fats, muscles burn calories all-day round. With this fact, you can start weight loss by increasing muscle mass. The more muscles, the less fat will be left. This is attainable starting with working out with resistance exercises.

Losing Weight Safely: Engaging in Aerobics

Aerobics are good for the heart by increasing cardiovascular endurance. Aerobics also help in developing lean muscle mass while simultaneously decreasing excess body fat. Aside from these, aerobics make the metabolic process more efficient and its rate high, even after a long while.

Losing Weight Safely: Extra “Push”

Some people believe that smoking and caffeine can actually help in losing weight. This can perhaps be true; however, they do the body more harm than good because of their side-effects. For that extra “push”, you can try out taking food supplements. After all, 95% of these products out in the market actually do some good.

Losing Weight Safely: On Taking Diet Pills

While diet pills affect the amount of weight loss as well as how long you can keep that weight off. However, you must be concerned of the side-effects of these diet pills. Furthermore, diet pills are only of benefit to losing weight as long as you are taking them. Once you have terminated the use of diet pills, the weight loss usually returns.

Losing weight safely does not have to entail sacrifice and suffering. It actually means opening up to a new outlook in a lifestyle that benefits a full and healthy life. Losing weight might entail a little adjustment in your beginning efforts, but as the old saying goes, “no pain; no gain.”

Weight Loss Myth Revealed! Healthy Weight Loss Supplements are not a Scam!

Lifestyle modifications are the foundation of any successful long-term weight loss plan (eating less and moving more), but requires daily focus and discipline. It’s not surprising that Americans want some sort of miracle cure packaged nicely in one little healthy weight loss supplement. As time goes on and technology improves, people become more and more willing to look for a fix rather than a solution.

Since there are too many choices out there to compare regarding healthy weight loss supplements, it all comes down to two questions: Are Weight-loss supplements safe? and Do they work? The answer is in the ingredients and the testimonials of people who have taken them.

All -natural products will not get people addicted to anything outside of wanting to live healthier. So many medications and drugs people take come wtih complications and side effects. What happens when your body gets something all-natural is that it begins to heal itself in a non-addictive way.

Many weight loss programs encourage users to reduce their calories and exercise more for the best results. While most people can benefit from both of these lifestyle changes, what you want are all-natural healthy weight loss supplements that work regardless of physical activity. After all, some of us can’t exercise due to an injury, and some of us have severe asthma, or other health challenges.

You must also stay away from any one miracle product claiming to solve all of your problems. The human body is complex and requires targeted products that focus on individual areas in order to aid the body as a whole. Doctors can only give people the best estimate of their problems, so how could a little pill perform mircales that humans can’t?

Since the soil today is depleted of minerals and animals are injected with hormones, the foods that we once thought were healthy aren’t so much anymore. Fruit and vegetables get picked way before they have had a chance to properly grow just do they can make it to the grocery stand, and we are missing out on all the nutrition we should be getting. Healthy weight loss supplements are the only way to finish the job.

Most of the time people try to take shortcuts by taking weight loss pills without eating properly, thinking it’s better to find an easy way out tha to get to the root of the problem. When it doesn’t work out, they blame the pill instead of themselves for making poor choices. This is how people have come to think that weight loss supplements are a scam.

There is nothing wrong with being skeptical, but most companies that provide good quality healthy weight loss supplements have scientists developing their products for your benefit. Take advantage of that. They are providing you with something you cannot find in stores. It always amazes me how people can be so skeptical about products that contain all-natural ingredients, yet they will devour double cheeseburgers and french fries without even thinking about it…and they already know it’s bad for them!

With proper nutrition and targeted healthy weight loss supplements using all natural ingredients, your body has the ability to do amazing things. It can heal itself quicker than someonewho is eating poorly, and it is the only way a person can become well enough to stop using medications. I personally lost 70 pounds and have kept it off for over 15 years and stopped taking my prescription asthma medications simply by providing myself with proper nutrition using healthy weight loss supplements.

Losing weight is definitely possible with all-natural healthy weight loss supplements, but in order to keep it off for good you must learn to make it a lifestyle change and continue on a healthy path to overall wellness. You cannot take supplements designed to help you lose weight, then go out and eat junk food all day long. It just will not work.

The best thing you can do to begin to understand how all-natural healthy weight loss supplements work for weight loss is that they provide proper nutrition, and what happens when you give your body the right nutrients and vitamins? It naturally begins to lose weight and heal itself. The only scam going on is when you try to trick your body into thinking it can function properly without proper nutrition.

Revealed! How I Achieved a 70 Pound Healthy Weight Loss in 4 Months and Have Kept it Off for 15 Years!

No matter what stop light your car is parked at, chances are good that you can look over at any of the four street corners and see a fast food restaurant. Despite all of the technical advances and knowledge we are equipped with to help us lead healthy lifestyles, temptation is keeping our nation fat and a soaring need for healthy weight loss for over 65% of Americans. One cheeseburger won’t hurt us in the long run, we say, but ten years later we wonder how we became obese.

Another factor helping America achieve the status of being the fattest nation in the world, and an alarming need for healthy weight loss, is fad diets. We eat cheeseburgers, tacos and fried chicken at all of these fast food restaurants, then jump on whatever fad diet train that conveniently passes by in order to try and cheat our way back to good health. All it seems to be doing is making us even fatter.

I struggled with being overweight for twenty years before finally realizing that cheaters never prosper, and it goes double when dealing with your health. I spent over $2,000 on various weight loss programs only to lose 60 pounds and gain back 80 pounds. The only logical solution I could come up with was that there was something wrong with me personally or I was using the wrong weight loss programs.

But thankfully, I’m not the type of person who gives up. When I finally woke up and realized that there will never be some sort of miracle cure packaged nicely in one little healthy weight loss supplement that will help anyone lose weight, things became clear. In order to lose weight and keep it off for good, I had to face the fact that lifestyle changes must be made and I had to find a healthy weight loss program that would work for me.

Lifestyle modifications are the foundation of any successful long-term weight loss plan (eating less and moving more), and they require daily focus and discipline. I had chronic asthma all of my life and could not exercise or even breathe heavy, yet I still found a way to lose 70 pounds 15 years ago and have been medication free ever since. For me there was no other choice. It all came down to making simple decisions on a daily basis.

The way I lost weight was by replacing high-fat and high-sugar foods with proper nutrition and targeted vitamins made from all natural ingredients. Specifically, I began replacing unhealthy meals with a soy-based protein shake that gave my body all of the proper nutrition that a huge high-calorie meal gives you, minus the salt, sugar and fat. Proper nutrition and less calories equals healthy weight loss. Did I give up the foods I love? No. I just don’t eat them quite so often.

One of the biggest misconceptions that I have encountered since beginning to help people in their healthy weight loss journey is that all you have to do is eat vegetables and fruits to get the nutrition you need. Although these foods are a much healthier alternative than low-fat potato chips and cookies, you still have to eat too much of them to get the nutrition of a scientifically formulated protein shake.

Calories are calories no matter what the food source is, and the more you consume, the more you will gain weight. One 200 calorie soy-based protein meal replacement shake, for example, could be packed with all the nutrients found in eating 2,000 calories worth of food.

The human body is complex and requires many different needs for all of your problems which cannot be solved with one little weight loss pill. Treating each organ individually so that it functions at its optimum performance is the safest way to achieve an overall wellness of the body. By taking an all-natural products targeted to help me breathe better, I was soon able to get off all of my asthma medications while achieving the weight loss I wanted.

Another reason why I was successful at losing weight and keeping it off was because I had a support system. My coach had been where I was, and struggled in the same ways to achieve weight loss. Because he was part of the program I began, my coach’s success was dependent on my success. And that is why I am so successful at helping people lose weight now. I have been there before and I know what it’s like.

The best part about the meal replacements and supplements I have conditioned myself to take every day to keep me healthy is the cost. It is cheaper for me to get the best nutrition possible into my system than it is to buy the extra value meal at any given fast food restaurant. How can you beat spending $3.50 per meal without putting your health at risk.

It is important that you understand the importance of making healthy choices as a new way of life. It is extremely difficult in America today to find the road to good health and stay on it, but you must if you want to achieve healthy weight loss and keep it off for good. Do not let poor food and diet choices rob you of living the best life you can live. For things to change, you’ve got to change.

Role of Weight Management in Weight Loss

With over 60% of the North American population currently overweight there has been much emphasis lately on the ways and means of healthy weight loss. If you have just successfully dropped a hundred (or even 10) pounds, congratulations – you did it! Now here comes second part of the challenge – weight management.

Research has shown that approximately only 20% of dieters keep excess weight off long term once they have reached their target goal. In fact one of the richest most powerful women in the world, Oprah Winfrey, has recently shared with the public her frustration and deep disappointment at unsuccessfully being able to maintain her ideal weight. So the woman who has everything; the guy, the job, the homes, the cars, a stellar career, fame and fortune still can’t buy thin and has to somehow muster the strength and courage to start all over again.  Good luck Oprah, you can do it, you really can, and so can any one else who has a solid weight management plan.

To begin developing your own plan for weight management, you will need to figure out what the ideal weight for your height and build is so that you know what healthy weight to set your weight loss goals by. Determining an estimate of your ideal body weight can be done by using a Body Mass Index Calculator or through a consultation with your doctor.

There are many weight loss options available that can aid you in reaching your ideal body weight. You can choose from a multitude of different diets, such as low-calorie or low-carbohydrate diets. There are fad diets such as the Cabbage Soup Diet and the South Beach Diet. There are prescription diet pills and OTC diet pills that can provide a multitude of benefits including lessening your appetite, increasing your metabolism and blocking fat absorption from the foods you eat. There are also exercise programs and bariatric surgeries. Carefully consider the risks and benefits of each option, do your research and enlist a medical doctor to help you make an informed choice.

All of these methods to lose weight, however, are only tools to assist you as you ‘battle the bulge’. Nothing, not even the best diet pills or most costly surgery will do all the work of losing weight for you – you still have to do your part. Your responsibility as someone who not only wants to lose weight, but wants long-term weight management is to make healthy adjustments to your lifestyle. This may include educating yourself about healthy eating and nutrition, learning how to exercise safely and effectively, and addressing any emotional aspects of your relationship with food and eating that may have been a contributing factor to your weight gain.

Weight management following weight loss is not complicated – all you need to do is consume a calorie-controlled diet and get regular exercise. It sounds pretty simple, so why is the success rate of weight management so low? The two main reasons are the inability to stay motivated over the long term, and a belief that dieting has an end goal rather than seeing it as a permanent lifestyle change. Weight management requires modifying behaviors around food and activity. The good news is that it takes less calories to lose weight than it does to maintain it and you can adjust your diet accordingly. Clinical studies have proven that the common denominators found amongst those who have successfully lost weight and have kept it off for a period longer than five years are:

–         high levels of activity

–         low-calorie, low-fat, portion-controlled meal plans

–         eating breakfast

–         developed and consistent eating patterns

–         they stayed motivated and did not cheat or fall off the wagon

The only truly good reason to lose weight should be to gain health despite social and cultural mores that would have you believe otherwise. Losing weight and achieving your weight loss goals is only half of your journey to a healthier you completed. The other half of your journey is weight management and keeping the weight off once it’s gone.
